Spring β March to May
Spring is one of the best seasons to explore Uzbekistan. The weather is generally pleasant, with comfortable temperatures for walking and sightseeing.
It is a great time to visit Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, as well as explore the countryside and mountain areas.
Summer β June to August
Summer is hot, especially in Bukhara and Khiva. Temperatures can be high during the daytime, so sightseeing is more comfortable in the morning and late afternoon.
For summer trips, we recommend comfortable clothing, sunscreen and plenty of water.
Autumn β September to November
Autumn is another excellent season for travelling around Uzbekistan. The weather becomes cooler and comfortable for sightseeing.
September and October are particularly popular for Silk Road tours, cultural experiences and city tours.
Winter β December to February
Winter is the quietest season for tourism. Temperatures can be cold, especially in the evenings, but many historical sites are less crowded.
Winter is also a great time to experience snow in the mountains around Tashkent and visit mountain resorts such as Amirsoy.
Which Season Is Best?
For first-time visitors, spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable seasons for exploring Uzbekistan.
However, every season has something special to offer. Whether you want to explore the ancient Silk Road cities, experience local culture or enjoy the mountains, Uzbekistan has something to offer throughout the year.
